Witch Hunter Trainer is a visual novel that puts some emphasis on the novel part. Although the plot itself isn’t long or intricate, there’s quite a bit of reading to get through before the end of the game. Luckily, this text is broken up with frequent sex scenes and choices, so if you’re not a reader you’ll always find something to do around the next corner.

If you are a reader, this book is a treat. The story is well written and enjoyable, weaving an interesting mystery for you to solve.

The novel is also choice-based, so think carefully when you are given an opportunity to make a choice. Sometimes these choices don’t effect the end of the game, sometimes they do. If you want to make sure you get the ‘right’ ending, there are plenty of walk-throughs out there to let you know which choices are important or not. Tread carefully!

Beautiful Visuals

The game features a beautiful, rustic style with hand drawn images and creative characters. Every single character and scene in the game has its own personality. This includes the sex scenes, which are often shown at creative angles. If you’re hoping for some crazy sex though, the game sticks to classic oral and vaginal sex. There won’t be any fetish play (yet anyway, there’s always another update!) Although the sex is fairly classic, there are some peeping and prostitution themes here and there through the game.

The art is similar to that in a similarly named erotic visual novel, Witch Trainer. Witch Trainer is a fan service to the Harry Potter universe however, while this one is it’s own beast. If you enjoyed the artwork in Witch Trainer, chances are you’ll like the artwork in this one as well.

Point and Click Play

While the game is for the most part a visual novel, it does have some game play aspects that help break it up. The game allows you to click around the map to explore, including the town and the forest outside of town. You’ll need to do this to help find clues and solve the mystery of what’s going on in town. One mildly annoying part to this game is that there are certain places you can go to explore (such as the forest) where you’re locked out once you leave. That means if you weren’t done exploring after you’ve left, you won’t be able to explore it again.

This is annoying, but hopefully it will be resolved in a future update. For now, explore each location thoroughly before leaving to make sure you don’t miss out on anything important.

Wide Variety of Ladies

Perhaps the best part of this game is the wide cast of female characters. Each one is unique, and beautifully designed. Examples of the different types of characters include a Vampire Hunter, a Mermaid, and a Dwarf Queen. Each one has their own unique style and personality, making each new lady you help an exciting adventure in its own right.

No matter what style of fantasy character you dream up, chances are there’s a girl to satisfy you in this game.

Regularly Updated

One of the most frustrating parts of playing a game is to fall in love with it only to discover it has been abandoned. Although the game is enjoyable as it is, the developers continue to provide new updates and add to the game. This means if you discover a bug or want to see a new character, you likely won’t have to wait more than a few months before your wish is granted. They have a patreon where regular updates are posted, so don’t forget to check there to see how the latest update is coming!
